Useful tips for when purchasing a certified asthma & allergy friendly^TM vacuum cleaner: 

• Select a vacuum cleaner that has been thoroughly tested by an independent laboratory or that has a third party Certification Mark.

• Simply choosing a vacuum cleaner that has a HEPA filter isn't good enough – it's also important that the filter fits correctly and that there is no allergen leakage around the motor or collection system.

• Make sure it has been proven to be effective at retaining both particles and allergen in laboratory tests.

• Check that the vacuum cleaner has proven excellent dust pick-up and that this pick-up is maintained in use and over the life time of the product.
