Certification Policy
The Certification Mark will not be associated with misleading claims and will not be used to suggest any product or environment can be considered as absolutely safe. As an independent certifying body, ASL is not engaged in the trade of goods or services that are certified asthma & allergy friendlyTM.
ASL has been established in accordance with the following principles to give ultimate public confidence in the asthma & allergy friendlyTM Certification process:
- Corporate structure that safeguards impartiality;
- Management and personnel with the necessary education, training and technical knowledge, and experience for performing functions relating to the type and range of work for certification;
- Policies and procedures for the resolution of complaints, appeals and disputes received from applicants arising from certification process.
The granting, maintenance, and renewal of the certification will be afforded only to those products that comply with the regulations and relevant criteria prescribed by ASL.
In keeping with best practice of certifying bodies, ASL's operational policies will be administered in a non-discriminatory manner and the certification will be available to all applicants who fulfill the asthma & allergy friendlyTM Certification Standards.
ASL has also developed a policy and procedure for the resolution of disputes and appeals arising from certification or related matters. Documentation and record-keeping will be strictly maintained within the guidelines set forth in the ASL quality manual.
