New Standard for Mattress Covers Announced

April 2010, the Certification Program announced AAFA has adopted the certification standard for a Mattress Cover. The ASP:02-12/101 Certification Standard and Testing Protocol, designed to assess the effectiveness of a mattress cover in serving as an effective allergen barrier, as well as testing for physiological comfort and the absence of allergenic or sensitizing chemicals, was developed by ASL. This new standard does not replace ASP:02:05 Mattress Encasing Certification Standard, but rather expands the options for families and allows for a wider arrange of products to meet the consumer's needs.
